🌸 Every bit of help, helps!
The history of the Flower Show goes back over many years and has always been dependent on the involvement of local volunteers. The Show has continued to be successful, attracting people from a wide area outside the Dengie. It is not possible to count the attendance, because there is no admission fee, but it is estimated that more than 2400+ people attend regularly. The Handicraft and Horticultural marquees regularly get 1000 adults visiting them, which is an achievement in itself. Speaking to visitors we know that they come from a very wide area and try to attend every year as they feel that 'old fashioned shows' such as ours are changing and even stopping completely.
To maintain the Show we are always looking for new ideas and attractions and of course help in running the events, some of which are not just on Flower Show day. We are extremely grateful to the band of helpers that do get involved and without whom these events would not happen.
If you could find time to help you would be very welcome, even if you can only spare a couple of hours – it can be quite amusing and a good way to meet people if you have recently moved to the District. We would particularly appreciate the support of some of the younger people in the Village.#

- The Thursday before the show the marquees are erected on the West Field. All are welcome from 9.30 a.m. and a sandwich lunch is provided.
- Friday the field is marked out for stalls and events and the tables are made ready for exhibitors.
- Saturday help is needed to assist in the marquees and with field events, etc.
- Sunday morning, following the show, help is needed to take down the marquees and clear the field.
